2 People Named as Suspect Over Corruption of Ujung Menteng Forest Project

"We continue to conduct investigation deeply over the alleged corruption of Ujung Menteng City Forest project. I believe other suspects could be detected, including civil servants under serving East Jakarta Agriculture and Forestry Sub-Department," he expressed, Wednesday (5/14).
He explained the corruption case was uncovered in the construction of fences, drains, etc, which allegedly do not conform to specifications, causing the state losses Rp 2.3 billion.
Head of Criminal Section for East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office, Silvy Rosalina added that such project was conducted in 2012, including construction of building and forest as wide as 1.8 hectares. The forest is equipped with jogging track, artificial pond, small mosque, toilet, parking area, and gazebo.
"From investigation results, we found two evidence to name G and W as suspect," she stressed.
According to Wahyu, Head of Forestry Section for East Jakarta Agriculture and Forestry Sub-Department, acknowledged he did not know on this matter. He knew it after East Jakarta Prosecutor's Office did a questioning on him.
"All this time, I just get information from supervisors. Regarding findings of some unspecified things, I don't know. I am not a civil engineering," he explained.
As a matter of fact, the project is carried out for six months and already passed through auction. It is allegedly having been handed over from the contractor to the Head of East Jakarta Agriculture and Forestry Sub-Department, Bambang Wisanggeni.
